PCI: What has your life been like since graduating from PCI Academy?
Thomas: I’ve worked behind the chair, done hair and makeup for multiple photo shoots, been featured on the cover of magazines as well as spreads inside, traveled coast-to-coast facilitating as a Pure Artist for Pureology Serious Color Care in salons, in distributor classrooms, and on stage for industry hairshows.
PCI: What would you advise our current students to do in school to enhance their future?
Thomas: Be open. When we open our minds we allow ourselves to grow and see things we haven’t seen before. Growth might be scary or make us feel uncomfortable, but we become so much stronger and gain confidence.
PCI: What was your most valuable training at PCI Academy?
Thomas: Beyond amazing technical skills, the best lesson I learned was to continually push myself to never become complacent. Our journey in this career is endless!
PCI: What advice did you not take while in school that you would tell students they SHOULD take?
Thomas: ALWAYS stay on the salon floor. Some of the best learning experiences I had were when I was without a guest watching my peers. NEVER stop learning!
PCI: What are your goals for the future?
Thomas: Continue my career within the Pureology family and create and grow my personal brand in the Des Moines/Iowa market.
